Thanks for using InstaShadow! We’re big on keeping things simple, including your privacy. This page explains, as plainly as possible, what (little) data we touch and how we handle it.

1. What We Collect

Short answer: virtually nothing. InstaShadow lets you view and download publicly available Instagram photos, videos, reels, stories, and highlights. We never ask for—or store any personally identifiable info.

2. Where Content Comes From

All media is pulled in real time from public endpoints or cached CDNs. We never poke at private accounts or scrape private content, and we don’t keep permanent copies of Instagram data on our servers.

3. How We Use Data

• No signup, no profile, no tracking.
• Download requests happen anonymously; we don’t log who grabbed what.
• We don’t sell or share anything, because we don’t have anything to sell or share.

4. Cookies & Analytics

InstaShadow doesn’t set first-party cookies. Third-party infrastructure partners may drop strictly-necessary or analytics cookies:

• Cloudflare - security & DDoS protection
• Google Analytics (v4, IP anonymization on) - basic usage stats

Both providers process only aggregated, anonymized data in line with GDPR. See their policies for the nitty-gritty.

5. Ads

We’re ad-free right now. If that changes, you’ll get a clear opt-out and all the usual privacy protections.

6. Links & Third-Party Sites

Anything you open through InstaShadow lives on Instagram’s servers (or other third-party sites). We can’t vouch for their privacy practices, so give their policies a read.

7. GDPR & Global Compliance

Because we don’t collect personal data, most GDPR obligations (right of access, erasure, etc.) don’t apply. If you think otherwise, hit us up, you’ll get a human reply.

8. Disclaimer of Liability

InstaShadow is independent and unaffiliated with Instagram, Meta, or any other platform. Use it at your own risk. You’re responsible for how you download, share, or republish content. We’re not liable for any legal hot water that follows.

Intellectual Property

All Instagram media remains the property of its original creators. We don’t host, alter, or claim ownership. Copyright owners can request takedown via [email protected].

9. Keep It Legal

Please respect:

• Instagram’s Terms of Service
• Relevant copyright statutes
• Any local laws that apply to you

We don’t encourage violations and may block access for abuse.

10. Changes

If we tweak this policy, the “Last updated” date up top will change. Keep using InstaShadow and you’re cool with the new version.
